Mentor Graphics, Agilent Partner on Auto Net Design and Test Tools
Mentor Graphics will license certain products in the Mentor Graphics Volcano product line to Agilent Technologies. The Agilent LIN Tester, derived from Mentor’s Volcano LIN Spector product, and the Agilent Vehicle Protocol Tester Series 500, derived from Mentor’s Volcano TELLUS product, help automotive engineers develop electronic products and meet quality requirements.
The partnership allows Agilent to provide test and validation tools beyond the physical layer up to the protocol layer, and customers using the Mentor Graphics vehicle network design tools with the Agilent Tester will get immediate validation results.
nCode Releases Ice-Flow 4.1
nCode International has just released, ICE-flow 4.1. Enhancements include a new GPS display function and increased ASAM ODS database support. This new GPS capability enables customers to interact with their data and view associated GPS coordinates on maps, giving direct connectivity between data and event locations.
The package also has new seam weld and vibration fatigue prediction capabilities. These capabilities enable better product validation via improved modeling and product life prediction where welds and vibration loading are a critical design consideration, thus eliminating unexpected failures.
Teradyne Launches i-VIEW Ultra
Teradyne Diagnostic Systesm’ i-VIEW Ultra is an integrated tester that combines an exceptionally fast VCI (Vehicle Communications Interface) with a built-in PC, and supports in-plant flash programming over multiple channels concurrently. It is designed to cope with the modern production line environment, where huge volumes of data have to be reliably programmed and installed onto the correct vehicle, from an ever-growing file storage system, and then tested.
The i-VIEW Ultra uses a rugged, lightweight unite that exceeds military standards for durability. The 6.5 VGA screen, with optional touch screen, gives a wide viewing angle and the device can be used and configured in several ways, including mounted on the steering wheel of any left or right-hand drive model. The fully integrated wireless PC (Windows XP) platform provides a completely stand-alone solution or seamless integration into a networked plant configuration.
