Test Lab Upgrades Belgian Block Test Capabilities

October 9th, 2007

Standards Testing Laboratories (STL), an independent testing facility for tires, wheels and related automotive components, has upgraded their capabilities for Belgian Block Testing, an original equipment manufacturer (OEM)-mandated specification. This test evaluates the shock and vibration experienced by a wheel traversing a cobblestone surface.

These test services, which have been part of the company’s portfolio for more than 25 years, have been upgraded to meet the increasingly demanding needs of the industry. The company regularly measures the resilience of wheels, wheel covers, wheel weights, valve stems, wheel rings and hub caps. Now, they can also measure severe tire durability.
