Two new software packages–SenVM and SenPC–give automotive engineers insight into sound radiation and transmission paths, allowing them to be more proactive in addressing noise problems.
Sen PC provides engineers with the the tools they need to identify and rank panel or source contributions. SenVM helps engineers identify vibration modes and isolate soiund-radiation modes from non-radiating modes. Both are add-on products to SenAH and SenNS, software packages that allow engineers and scientists to analyze sound pressure, velocity, and intensity.
Unlike methods that are based on simulation alone, these tools use actual measurements to zero in on noise-generation problems. This not only makes the analysis more accurate and troubleshooting the problem easier, the tools also allow companies to use the measurement data to refine their simulation models.
