Software Allows Ergonomic Analysis in the CAD Environment

October 6th, 2005

The AnybodyCAD plug-in for AutoCAD streamlines ergonomic analysis and accommodation early in the product development and manufacturing processes. With this software, users can manipulate three-dimensional human models in AutoCAD using posture prediction algorithms. After posturing the digital human, the user can easily apply reach envelopes or eye cones to the model to assess workplace accommodation. In addition, joints, angles and locations from each digital human may also be exported as CSV or XML files and opened with a spreadsheet application such as Microsoft Excel. Digital humans are saved within the native AutoCAD DWG format, along with the CAD geometry data for rapid re-use.

AnybodyCAD software can be downloaded from the Storm Lake Corp. website for $895 USD. A fully functional demo version is also available for download, and allows free trial for thirty days. AnybodyCAD is compatible with AutoCAD 2006 and prior releases, as well as Autodesk(R) Architectural Desktop 2006.
