Shanghai General Motors to Move Proving Ground to Anhui

Shanghai General Motors Co., Ltd., a venture of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) (SAIC) and General Motors Corp., will formerly move its automotive proving grounds to Guangde County in Anhui Province from Chongming in Shanghai on October 12, 2007.
The new test field will be invested with CNY 1.9 billion and be built into the largest one of the kind of General Motors in Asia Pacific Region.
The test field will be the biggest in China in terms of scale and function.
This is the second big move of SAIC to build car test field with foreign partners after spending CNY 1.2 billion and five years with Volkswagen in building a test field in Anting Town in Shanghai.
