What was the Schaffner Group’s Test Systems Division became an independent company on November 27, 2006 and has changed its name to Teseq. After Schaffner decided last year to focus on its components business and divest its test systems activities, key employees seized the opportunity to propose what has become a successful management buyout of the division.
According to the company, Teseq has retained all of the former Division’s management and employees and will provide all of the products and services that Schaffner provided. This includes servicing all warranty liabilities.
Teseq has acquired from Schaffner all intellectual property rights for the current product range and will continue to invest substantially in product development. The company’s engineers and product managers will keep their seats in the standards committees and Teseq will continue to play a key role in the development of future EMC standards. Teseq will also maintain the accredited test laboratories in Wokingham (UK), Berlin (Germany), Luterbach (Switzerland) and Edison (NJ, USA) will continue to perform traceable and accredited calibrations.
Your calibration certificates will retain their validity and the labs will be re-registered under their new legal Teseq company names.
In general, I’m in favor of buyouts like this, but why, oh why, did they choose such a silly name? I just don’t understand how a nonsensical name, such as Teseq, advances a company’s business objectives. I guess that’s why I’m an engineer and not an executive….Dan
