Novi Lab Adds EMC Testing Capabilities

The Novi, MI Underwriters Laboratories EMC test lab has added capabilities that support the latest revisions to the Ford, GM and DaimlerChrysler EMC specifications listed below:

  • Ford ES-XW7T-1A278-AC (October 2003)
  • DaimlerChrysler DC-10615 (May 2003) and DC-10614 (March 2005)
  • General Motors GMW3097 (February 2004)

The UL facility in Novi is certified by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA) and the Automotive EMC Laboratory Recognition Program (AEMCLRP) for testing to SAE, ISO, CISPR and IEC standards. The facility is also approved by the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), a leading European vehicle approval authority and technical service, for the purposes of witnessed testing to EMC requirements of EEC Automotive Directive 95/54/EEC and ECE Regulation 10.02.

The UL-Novi laboratory is the largest independent, third-party, Detroit-based automotive EMC components testing facility, offering the widest breadth of domestic and international OEM test services. UL’s team of National Association of Radio and Telecommunication (NARTE) Certified engineers and technicians test to a wide variety of global automotive and vehicle manufacturers’ specifications.
