LXI To Present Three Three Demos at AutoTestCon 2007

September 6th, 2007

The LXI Consortium will conduct three new demonstrations of LXI test and measurement capabilities at the AutoTestCon 2007 trade show (booth #953) in Baltimore, Maryland, September 17-20. These demonstrations, which will highlight LXI’s versatility, ease-of-use and performance advantages, include:

  • Multi-Vendor/Remote Access Capabilities. This demonstration will show how LXI instruments can be configured to monitor and control measurements wirelessly from remote locations. In this demonstration, a series of remote-access applications will connect together instruments that are present at various participating members’ booths.
  • Class A/B Synchronization. This will demonstrate how users can synchronize instruments via the ClassA/B IEEE-1588 Precision Time Protocol, which greatly simplifies the complex task of triggering and measurement synchronization by allowing all instruments on the same network to automatically synchronize. It provides time stamps or synchronization signals to all instruments, as well as peer-to-peer communications between instruments, which relieves traffic congestion, and loading of the control computer. This demonstration then switches to the Class A Wired Trigger Bus to demonstrate the performance increase offered when using the Class A capabilities.
  • Getting Started with LXI. This demonstration shows how to get started with LXI compliant instruments from your favorite manufacturers. It will run in both the LXI booth and participating member booths in order to illustrate the ease with which the LXI Standard can be deployed.
LXI-based technology will work with your existing instrument investment and it is being rapidly adopted with 50 consortium members and more than 300 LXI-compliant products to date.
