The Agilent TS-5020 is a low-cost, scalable functional tester designed for automotive and general-purpose test markets. The company claims that it is ideal for testing automotive supplemental restraint systems, small body electronics and HVAC climate-control modules. It has the flexibility to perform RF standalone tests, such as remote-keyless-entry and tire-pressure-monitoring systems, as well as a combination of low-frequency (AC and DC) and high-frequency (RF) tests specifically targeted to the automotive market. This test platform is also compatible with ISM band in industrial and consumer applications from 100 MHz - 3 GHz for remote control transmitter/receivers, remote metering, remote temperature sensors and RFID.
Its mainframe is Agilent’s 34980A multifunction switch/measurement unit with built-in DMM and LXI compatible parts. A series of optional plug-and-play modules is also available.
In addition to basic instruments, Agilent’s TS-5020 can be combined with optional Agilent instruments, including Agilent’s industry-leading N6700 Series module power supply and Agilent GPIB PCI card, to perform more sophisticated tasks.
The TS-5020 runs on MS Windows XP and TS-5000 Series Family Controller, which includes 1024 RAM, DVD-RW, floppy drive, keyboard, 15-inch flat-panel display and mouse. Providing greater flexibility and full use of the system, the TS-5020 also offers the option of an express-connect interface connector assembly (ICA). The ICA is the main interface between the UUT and the system.
