Green Plus Ltd, sister company of Biofriendly Corporation in the U.S., announced today that it has taken over the former Ford Motor Company Emissions Laboratory in Aveley, near London. The laboratory will be used to perform independent emissions and device testing for vehicle and engine makers as well as serve as a research and development facility for Green Plus Ltd and Biofriendly Corporation. The companies are the makers of Green Plus(R), a liquid fuel combustion catalyst that reduces harmful emissions and improves fuel economy in gasoline, diesel and heavy fuel oil.
Green Plus has hired several members of the former Ford Motor Company staff, including Tony French, who served as manager of the facility for over 20 years. Initially, the lab will operate one test cell that can measure emissions for cars and light trucks to the level of Euro 4, the highest emission standard in effect in the European Union. The lab will utilize a Horiba Mexa 9000 system the company acquired from British Petroleum that has been fully reconditioned. The company will be seeking UK Vehicle Certification Authority (VCA) approval and it expects the lab to open in September, eventually operating three test cells.
