Frost & Sullivan has named dSPACE as the 2005 Manufacturing Test Company of the Year. dSPACE manufactures hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing systems and has more than 1,100 simulators installed around the world.
HIL simulation with dSPACE Simulator enables engine control unit (ECU) tests in real time and in a realistic test environment that does not need real components. Testing in HIL simulation is a viable alternative, allowing new ECUs and software to be tested largely in a virtual environment, without real vehicles or prototypes.
dSPACE simulators can run separately as single simulators or networked together. This allows test engineers to scale the test system appropriately, testing a single ECU or an entire vehicle,
even if it is a network of 40 or more ECUs. In an ECU network test with dSPACE Simulator, ECUs that are not yet available can be simulated and replaced by their real counterparts later on.
Frost & Sullivan presents its Company of the Year Award to the company that has demonstrated excellence within its industry. This includes the company’s business development strategies, competitive strategies, and customer service practices.
