Design Analysis Software Simulates Drop and Fatigue Tests

COSMOSDesignSTAR(TM) 2006 is the latest version of a standalone design analysis program that works with many CAD programs. This latest version simulates drop tests for both parts and assemblies.

The new software also offers fatigue life analysis for the first time. Users can perform fatigue studies on assemblies that contain different material properties and can accurately predict a product’s lifespan by using actual loading conditions in the fatigue simulation. Fatigue life analysis tools include Rainflow charts to help users determine the effects of small stress cycles in their loading history, and possible effects over life.

COSMOSDesignSTAR supports Solid Edge(R) version 18, Autodesk Inventor(R) version 10, SolidWorks(R) 2006, Pro/ENGINEER(R) Wildfire version 2, and CATIA(R) V4 and V5. COSMOSDesignSTAR also supports Parasolid(R), ACIS(R), and other CAD formats via STEP and IGES.
