Coaxial Probe is Threaded

July 14th, 2006

The P820/G series claims to be the first threaded coaxial spring probe on the market. The new probes should find applications in the automotive test field, where threaded probes have largely taken over from the traditional plug-in probes. The probe has a choice of two tip styles, and mirrors the electrical characteristics of the P820 standard plug-in coaxial probe, which has been an industry standard for several years.

The outer contact is rated at 6A, and the inner at 1A, and the continuity resistance is less than ten milliohms. For easy replacement without the need for wire soldering, a wire plug is provided as an option. Probe insertion and removal simply requires a 2mm Allen key.
