CHS Adds Transient Simulation Capability

May 28th, 2006

Mentor Graphics’ CHS electrical design software suite can now simulate electrical transients. This features uses industry-standard VHDL-AMS component models to simulate time domain effects such as wire melt and fuse blow. This enables harness cost and weight optimizations to be made in the design of electrical distribution systems in the transportation industry.

Named Capital SimTransient, this feature is available with CHS release 2006.1, which also delivers a range of enhancements to existing products. Examples of these enhancements include aesthetic and performance enhancements when automatically generating wiring diagrams, and additional web-based enterprise integration services.

Capital SimTransient is available immediately. Pricing starts at $7,500. For more information, visit the company’s website.
