AVL Powertrain Engineering Inc. (PEI) plans to build a $2.9 million engineering technical center in Plymouth Township, according to a release issued Wednesday by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. The center is expected to create 125 jobs.
The state gave PEI a single-business-tax credit worth more than $3.5 million during 12 years to convince the company to build the technical center in Michigan. Plymouth Township is considering a 12-year tax abatement valued at $375,154 for the project.
